Bob Prigmore The compositions, arrangements and production of Polarchoral are exceptionally creative and imaginative. Sonic alchemy sounds of gold, certainly. Avant pop, prog, nujazz, art folk, art rock, electronic glitch, Domesday sonics, whatever style music is said to be it is the quality that matters. My introduction to Grice and Hungersleep Records by the excellence of One Thousand Birds brought about an expectation of a very high quality that has been expanded and enhanced in Polarchoral. Great!

INVOLUTION (lyrics) Anyone who had thought would think Anyone who had one wish would wish to stay Anyone who had a heart would love this thing We do for you. Anyone who walks away Drives away And anyone who walks away Would leave behind the truth Anyone who had a thought Would think this strange And anyone who had a heart would love to stay Anyone who’s lost control And ran away And I’m back again To stay I’m unretrievable I’m unconsolable Today I just don’t want to know where it is I’m leaving it behind Just as you told me to be Killing myself to be free. Loving is dieing deep mystifying Then I need to get away Undeniable Unbreakable Unreachable Unmistakable Unbreakable Unretrievable Because I lost control Unconsolable Unretrievable Uncontrolable Aren’t they liable?

Lyrics Hide the workings of the martyred mind And you can laugh if you can smile And face another tragic time And take the pill and make it mine I won’t be told, I’ll just be fine. Saviour of ourselves Go crazy on ourselves Saviour of ourselves Go crazy on ourselves Saviour of ourselves Are you living today? Have you something to say? Are you still in the dark? Don’t you think we should start? Through an opening mind Through an opening mind OK Chase with winning hands and losing face It’s on the cards - the Royal hush Now baby don’t you want him back It’s always right - if it’s not wrong We want the world - it’s where we belong Saviour of ourselves Go crazy on ourselves Saviour of ourselves Are you living today? Have you something to say? Are you still in the dark? Don’t you think we should start? Through an opening mind Through an opening mind With a winning hand and a losing face Well, It’s on the cards - the Royal chase Have you something to say In the dark, In circles we chase With a winning hand and a losing face It’s on the cards - the Royal hush Now baby don’t you want him back It’s always right - its never wrong We want the world - it's where we belong Saviour of ourselves Crazy on ourselves

BAND OF BROTHERS (lyrics) I am aware of you Never heard the warning sighs Was I away from school When they taught me how to save my live With love, what about love Love love what about love? I’m not afraid of you Never heard the warning signs Was I away from school When they taught us how to save our lives With love, what about love With love, what about love? Could it be love? What about love? We said some foolish things The devil riding on our back But now it’s time to sing Our blood is running thick as wine But now is time to sing Our blood is running thick as wine What about love? And love, what about love? Could it be love? We did some foolish things But as long as we can sing What about love And now it’s time to sing What about love? Is there any love? What about love Beautiful dream. What about love Beautiful dream Could it be love Wasn’t it love?

about

POLARCHORAL is the 5th solo album by British art rock artist GRICE

Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter GRICE presents his unique brand of sonic alchemy with a set of highly polished and detailed sonic gems.

'POLARCHORAL combines some deeply grounded, sophisticated art rock and prog-pop songs with a twist of expansive and experimental polyrhythms and arrangements to make a unique and expressive statement'.

"A sonic satellite is launched into the darkness"

"An album of exquisite beauty by an artist of rare refinement" PROG magazine (Dec, 2022)

“Highly polished and detailed and ultimately, enthralling. Magical and intoxicating - 4.5 glacial harmonics" - PROG ROGUE

"Hypnotizing and spiritually medicating - this may both bruise and soothe the aching heart" - Thomas Szirmay

“Sonic alchemy sounds of gold” - progrock.com

“An excellently produced audiophile treat” - Betreuters Proggen

“Grice travels with true grace in such territories as avant pop, prog rock & art rock” - MLWZ - A Small Lexicon of Great Bands

“A 2022 top album” - The Progressive Aspect

"A beautiful, dramatic, through-provoking album, and in a world that currently seems to dwell in negativity, it offers hope" Tony Colvill - TPA

POLARCHORAL is a set of powerful, intricate and emotionally challenging songs which explore the bi-polarity of personal relationships and ideologies, the attraction and division of people and the confusion, conflict and hurt prevalent in our times. Conflict divides but also unites, without division there is no life. This is music for the Unconsoled, songs from the rain that speak of hope, love and defiance.

'Creating this album has been a process of looking inward through the microscope as much as looking outward and upwards through the telescope into the universal’. G
