about

British art rock artist GRICE unveils his new single ‘Saviour’ from his highly anticipated 5th album POLARCHORAL

Saviour - Single Release date: 7th October 2022
POLARCHORAL - Album Release date: 4th November 2022

“Charged with Pop sensibility and Art Rock energy”

This is intelligent, adult, sophisticated, dreamscape artrock, accessible but with a twist of smarts, clever arrangements, and a darn beautiful voice. - PROG ROGUE

GRICE returns with ‘Saviour’ the lead single from his 5th solo album POLARCHORAL where he presents his unique brand of sonic alchemy through a powerful, intricate and emotionally challenging single.

Powerful and defiant,’Saviour’ is a sonic satellite launched into the darkness - a beacon of hope - a search for unity and healing in a fractured and polarised world.

“Creating this album has been a process of looking inward through the microscope as much as looking outward and upwards through the telescope into the universal’. G

‘Saviour’ features GRICE on vocals, guitars and bass, award winning drummer Robert Brian (Goldfrapp, Peter Gabriel, Siouxsie Sioux), legendary pedal steel guitarist B J Cole (Elton John, Marc Bolan, Scott Walker), the technical virtuosity of Al Swainger on bass pedals, Eliza Carew (cello) and violinist Steve Bingham (No-Man, Judy Dyble).

POLARCHORAL, the 5th solo album by GRICE, explores the bi-polarity of personal relationships and ideologies, the attraction and division of people and the confusion, conflict and hurt prevalent in our times.

The album also has sonic contributions from his musical associates and friends: Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree, Japan), Steve Jansen (Exit North, Japan) on the closing track and Egyptian master percussionist and dearly departed friend, Hossam Ramzy whose unique rhythms feature on the title track of the album. The album also features Italian freeform trumpet player Luca Calabrese, Suzanne Barbieri on vocals and Alan Burton (Uilleann Pipes).

lyrics

SAVIOUR by GRICE

Hide the workings of the martyred mind
And you can laugh if you can smile
And face another tragic time
And take the pill and make it mine
I won’t be told, I’ll just be fine.

Saviour of ourselves
Go crazy on ourselves

Saviour of ourselves
Go crazy on ourselves
Saviour of ourselves

Are you living today?
Have you something to say?
Are you still in the dark?
Don’t you think we should start?
Through an opening mind

Through an opening mind
OK

Chase with winning hands and losing face
It’s on the cards - the Royal hush
Now baby don’t you want him back
It’s always right - if it’s not wrong
We want the world - it’s where we belong

Saviour of ourselves
Go crazy on ourselves
Saviour of ourselves

Are you living today?
Have you something to say?
Are you still in the dark?
Don’t you think we should start?
Through an opening mind

Through an opening mind
With a winning hand and a losing face
Well, It’s on the cards - the Royal chase
Have you something to say
In the dark, In circles we chase
With a winning hand and a losing face
It’s on the cards - the Royal hush
Now baby don’t you want him back
It’s always right - its never wrong
We want the world - it's where we belong

Saviour of ourselves
Crazy on ourselves
